Days 61,62, and 63
It's difficult to capture in pictures the progress going on at Liberty Farm these days but believe me, there is definite progress. The insulating continues, the wiring continues, and the plumbing continues. Tomorrow, Fairpoint comes to hook up telephone and internet; Direct TV comes to install television service. Even though we won't be able to use those services for a few weeks, it's important to get the services connected so we have the lines run before the dry wall goes in. The heating system is finally finalized - a high efficiency condensing, propane-fired wall hung unit that will power radiant floor heating in both the garage and living spaces. Jon is convinced with the highly efficient insulation and the cutting edge heating system, we can light the Carriage House with a candle. We'll see. In any event, progress is happening. The kitchen is being delivered on Thursday but probably won't be installed for a few weeks. We are continuing to live in the camp. The adventure of living off the grid without electricity and running water has been a wonderful, but I think I am ready for this adventure to end and for the adventure of living in the Carriage House to begin.
