Days 40 and 41 (December 1 and 2)

A friend told me that there would be times when construction seems to move at a snail's pace. I think I feel the weight of that shell right now. The weather has not been cooperating, and it's been difficult to coordinate all the entities that need to be involved right now. But here we are at the end of Day 41 of construction:
  • The metal roof is 2/3 completed.
  • The new electrical pole is in place.
  • The trenching is completed for the underground wiring.
  • The outside trim is 7/8 completed.
  • All doors and windows are installed.
  • The insulation is here and ready to be installed.
  • The plumber is setting up the radiant heat plan for the second floor.
  • The kitchen will be shipped on December 27.
  • All appliances are purchased and waiting for us at the warehouse.
  • The laminate flooring is purchased and stored on the first floor of the Carriage House.
  • The well pump is installed (Although we are still getting rusty water.) We have a call into the well people.
  • Septic system is completed.
We sure would like to be in the house soon. It's getting more and more challenging to live in the camp. Yesterday, the water was frozen. Jon had to make a trip to Rockland to fill up the water jugs. The 5 inches of snow we got yesterday didn't help much either. Jon still has to get up on the staging to put up the last two pieces of trim; he can't do that when it's slippery. Sigh.
